EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

April 19, 2008 - Hosted by Northland Pioneer College at it's Show Low White Mountain Campus

We opened up the college campus to about 40 community groups interested in promoting recycling, community responsibility and the environment.  There were about 20 presentations going from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in two classrooms, and displays and entertainment around the Aspen Center stage.  Comedian Drew LaCapa, Tai Chi demonstrations, various speakers, a live radio remote were featured on center stage, culminated by entertainment from a youth band.  Food was provided by donation by Love Kitchen and the Salvation Army, and Wal-Mart provided free green recycling bags, bottled water and florescent bulbs to all attendees.  We had approximately 500 people show up from the community to participate in this fun event!
