Purpose

This course is designed to introduce entrepreneurs to key concepts in the law, both statuary and regulatory, which may affect the success of their business. Also covers the key concepts in contract law and business liability. The availability and limitations of various types of insurance to protect the business from liability is also discussed.

Course Structure/Approach

This course is self-paced and is available as an Internet course.  The course is designed to be completed in 5 weeks and can be completed through many distant education methods: 

bulletthe student may enroll, pick up the book and drop off assignments at the Small Business Development Center.
bulletthe student may complete the course as a standard correspondence course and use regular mail to send in assignments.
bulletthe student may send in assignments by e-mail and  complete the entire course over the Internet.

 

The recommendation is to enroll in the course and visit or call the Small Business Development Center at (928) 532-6170 to determine which method will be used.
