Purpose

This course will introduce the personal and economic realities of self-employment (entrepreneurship) as an alternative to traditional employment. The characteristics
of successful entrepreneurs will be examined as well as the primary types of entrepreneurship. The student will begin the preliminary considerations that are needed to develop a viable business plan.

Course Structure/Approach

This course is self-paced and is available as an Internet course.  The course is designed to be completed in 5 weeks and can be completed through many distant education methods: 

bulletthe student may enroll, pick up the book and drop off assignments at the Small Business Development Center.
bulletthe student may complete the course as a standard correspondence course and use regular mail to send in assignments.
bulletthe student may send in assignments by e-mail and  complete the entire course over the Internet.

 

The recommendation is to enroll in the course and visit or call the Small Business Development Center at (928) 532-6170 to determine which method will be used.
