Purpose

This course models strategies for entrepreneurs interested in starting and running a small business. This course will provide the student with an overview of the basic skills in running a small business, including startup issues, products and facilities, industry analysis, marketing plan, bookkeeping systems, financial plan, legal and insurance, financing options, and writing a quality business plan.
 

Course Structure/Approach

This course is self-paced and is available as an Internet course.  The course is designed to be completed in 15 weeks and can be completed through many distant education methods: 

bulletthe student may enroll, pick up the book and drop off assignments at the Small Business Development Center.
bulletthe student may complete the course as a standard correspondence course and use regular mail to send in assignments.
bulletthe student may send in assignments by e-mail and  complete the entire course over the Internet.

 

The recommendation is to enroll in the course and visit or call the Small Business Development Center at (928) 532-6170 to determine which method will be used.
