Purpose

This course will provide the student with an introduction to the concepts of small business ownership.  The student will gain an understanding of entrepreneurship, types of businesses, legal aspects, managing a small business, marketing, negotiations, and finance issues.

Course Structure/Approach

This course is self-paced and is available as an Internet course.  The course is designed to be completed in 15 weeks and can be completed through many distant education methods: 

bulletthe student may enroll, pick up the book and drop off assignments at the Small Business Development Center.
bulletthe student may complete the course as a standard correspondence course and use regular mail to send in assignments.
bulletthe student may send in assignments by e-mail and  complete the entire course over the Internet.

 

The recommendation is to enroll in the course and visit or call the Small Business Development Center at (928) 532-6170 to determine which method will be used.
