Mark Engle, Director, has been involved with the SBDC program since May of 1994.   He has developed counseling and training programs for small businesses and has authored a book to assist with local startups “Building Your Winning Business in Northeast Arizona”, which is used in Entrepreneur Training classes.  He was recognized by the National Association of Small Business Development Centers at their 1999 annual conference as one of ten national Star Performers.  His prior experience includes six years as owner/operator of a Grade A dairy operation, and fifteen years in commercial banking.   Mark has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agribusiness Management and a Master of Education in Educational Technology from Northern Arizona University.   From May 2005 through June of 2007 he took a sabbatical, moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico and founding his own consulting practice, Four Corners Consulting Group.  There he contracted to provide services for the Southwest Sustainable Forests Partnership, a collaborative organization consisting of the Arizona and New Mexico State Forestry Depts., U.S. Forest Service Region 3, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Little Colorado River Plateau RC&D.
